ITIL® Certification - Course Overview

ITIL® - Information Technology Infrastructure Library - is a set of best practices that are used to develop and execute IT service management and guidelines that define an integrated, process-based approach for managing information technology services. ITIL can be applied across almost every type of IT environment. ITIL® is the most widely accepted approach to IT service management in the world.

From the inception till date, ITIL® has been steadily increasing throughout the world and its adoption towards the practice helped in public and private, government organizations. With ITIL® - aligning IT with the needs of the business, improving service quality, decreasing the costs of IT service delivery and support and this framework can help the information security professional both directly and indirectly

It offers a number of benefits, including increased competitive advantage through cost reduction, growth and agility; more business efficiency through streamlining of IT processes; enhanced IT value through Business - IT operational and goal alignment; and improved internal customer and user satisfaction.

This course educates all IT Managers and Practitioners with a practical understanding of the key concepts, principles, processes and functions that enables successful IT Service Management provision. It also provides delegates with the information needed for the ITIL® Foundation Certificate Examination. The course is based on the ITIL® best practice service lifecycle approach.

ITIL® can be split into ITIL® Service Support and Service Delivery. These contain a set of structured best practices and standard methodologies for core IT operational processes such as Change, Release, and Configuration Management, as well as Incident, Problem, Capacity, and Availability Management.

ITIL® focuses on service quality and directs how IT services can be efficiently and cost-effectively supported. It defines the objectives, activities, inputs, and outputs of many of the processes found in an IT organization. It primarily focuses on what processes are needed to ensure high quality IT services; however, ITIL® does not provide specific, detailed descriptions about how the processes should be implemented, as they will be different in each organization. In other words, ITIL® tells an organization what to do, not how to do it. In simple terms, ITIL® will not focus on creating things like projects do; instead it focuses on delivering IT services to the company.

No tools are required for this implementation process in your organization. If your organization is small, simple pattern and spreadsheets may be all you need. If your organization is large, you may need to find appropriate software tools to help.

Course objectives

The course educates our aspirants on skills and knowledge to understand how an integrated IT Service Management framework, based on ITIL® best practice guidelines, can be adopted and adapted within their own organizations. It provides proven practical guidance on how to successfully introduce an integrated IT Service Management framework based on the ITIL® best practice service lifecycle approach.

This course also helps delegates prepare for the ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management examination; held at the end of the second day. There will be reinforcement in the form of exercises throughout the course with the objective of instilling a deeper understanding of IT Service Management.

Our course will help a specialist to better streamline IT services to the company/customer they are employed under. This certification focuses on identifying best practices and teaches the specialist to identify and integrate these aspects into the company’s standard operating procedures.
